Something Old . . . Something New

I know most of you have seen these different styles of flowers out in the blogosphere, but it's the first time I've attempted to make them.

I'm so impressed with how cute this first one turned out. It's made from felt, and very tedious, but so worth it! Of course I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and there are things I would do differently next time, but i don't think anyone else could tell.

This is very similar to the other silk flowers, but I did it peony style. Very sweet in pink!

This one was a challenge. Still not sure about it, I need to play around with it some more.

Hope the mommy to be loves them as much as I do!

Hello Utah

Some of you may or may not know, but we recently moved to Utah. It's beautiful here, but a BIG adjustment, at least for me.

Anyhoo, because we're not in our own house yet, my crafting has been slow to say the least. But I have had time to do a few small projects.
Like this beauty. My SIL wanted a name sign for my adorable nephew. I wish I had a picture of him so you could appreciate his cuteness. But the cute sign will have to do!

I was very pleased with how it turned out, I just wish it had been bigger. It was supposed to go above the crib, but by the time it was finished and hung, it looked pretty pathetic in the large space.

Nonetheless, I loved the colors and the beadboard. It was fun to do, I may just have to make one for Sadie when I do her room!

Call Me Crazy

I can't say why, but in the midst of trying to complete 2 projects for my sister in law, and oh yeah, packing to move out of state, I hade the urge to sew. I've had the material to make these burp cloths for my newest nephew but never got around to making them. So now in my crazy head, I decided it was a good time to get them done!

I'm kind of pleased with myself. I lack sewing skills, but straight lines, I CAN DO!

Tied with a bow, I gave them to my sister in law. I hope she likes them, and I'm sure my nephew will appreciate them too!
